We are taking a culinary trip through our favourite decades, downstairs of the Community Hall, on the green.
Food connects people more than we sometimes realise: Family recipes passed down through generations, dishes that turned into staples of the modern beach BBQ, festive traditions taken for granted that are based entirely on geographic location (cold watermelon slices for Christmas anyone?). Sometimes food can bring memories to the fore: a reminder of people we have loved, places we have been, laughter we have shared.
Bring a plate: In the style of a pot-luck, we ask attendees to ‘bring a plate’ to share, whether that be cheese and kabana toothpicks, devils on horseback (bacon-wrapped prunes, anyone?), or a sweet treat.
Raffle: As is CHIS tradition, there will be a raffle drawn on the night and donations are always welcome.
Need transport? If you have need of transport, please email the Society at cihsevs@gmail.com or ring Jan MacIntyre 3820 8419.
Updates will be posted to Facebook.
